Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support with parents' acceptance of children with special needs. The subjects of this study were parents who had children with special needs in the Foster Home of the Home Study of Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Therapy Center (PNTC) Colomadu, Karanganyar which amounted to 64 people. This research method uses a quantitative approach with questionnaire distribution. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Pearson product moment correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are that the acceptance of parents who have children with special needs in the low category is 50% (32 people), moderate is 29.7% (19 people), and high is 20.3% (13 people), social support who have children with special needs in the low category as much as 48.4% (31 people), moderate 32.8% (21 people), and high 18.8% (12 people), and there is no influence of social support with the acceptance of parents with children with special needs with the results of p value = 0.620 (p value> 0.05). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is no influence of social support with the acceptance of parents with children with special needs in the Foster Homes Home Learning Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Therapy Center (PNTC) Colomadu, Karanganyar.
