Abstract

Adjustment as a process to find a meeting point between the conditions themselves and the demands of the environment. Adjustment is also a continuous dynamic process that aims to change behavior in order to get a more harmonious relationship between the self and the environment. The many changes in adolescence lead to conflicts which affect adolescent adjustment, one of the conflict is communication. Interpersonal communication is the delivery of information or messages that occur on a reciprocal basis and there is a response back from the receiver. This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication with the adjustment, also determine the level of interpersonal communication and the level of adjustment to overseas students. Based on the results of the hypothesis by engineering analysis of the Pearson product moment obtained coefficient (r xy) of 0, 271, p = 0, 012 (p <0.05). This indicates that there is a significant positive correlation between interpersonal communication with the adjustment to the overseas students. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that the higher the interpersonal communication, the higher the ability to adjust himself, Vice versa, the lower the interpersonal communication will also lower the ability of coping
